What is the “Buck Off”?

The “Buck Off” is a mechanical bull-riding contest benefitting the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center. There are 4 “Buck Off” events, 3 preliminary competitions and a championship round, held over a period of 4 weeks. The championship round is held during the Vinceremos Annual Dinner Auction. This is a team competition with 4 riders to a team. Each competition has a panel of 4 different judges that can score the riders a maximum score of 25 points per judge, making a perfect score of 100 points. All four rider’s scores are totaled for a team score. Riders must stay on the bull for 20 seconds and keep one hand free in order to receive a score. Judges give points based on style, character and a bonus for costumes. The team with the highest score at each preliminary competition will advance to the championship round to compete against each other and the winning team from the previous year.

Helping the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center

Vinceremos serves children and adults with developmental, physical and psychological disabilities in a fun, natural and nurturing environment where the riders gain greater independence and achieve a higher quality of life. The impact that horses have on individuals with special needs both mentally and physically is astounding. Exposure to the Equestrian Community

Vinceremos has been around for over 30 years and is a favorite charity among the Wellington equestrian community. The “Buck-Off” is one of Wellington’s most popular charity events during the winter season and is well attended by a concentrated group of not only riders and trainers but also very influential individuals in the community. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses or individuals that are looking for exposure to this industry to get in front of this amazing audience.

Company Team in the Competition

A sponsorship includes putting together a team of fun bronc riders in the competition under your company name. This helps ensure your brand gets in front of the audience numerous times throughout each event. If you don’t have brave riders in your circle of friends or business, Eques Solutions will recruit a competitive team for you. Sponsored teams are allowed to ride more than once in each preliminary competition in order to challenge top scoring teams.

Additional Exposure

Sponsors that commit before print materials are produced will have their logos on all the posters that will be distributed throughout the Wellington community, Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, Adequan Global Dressage Festival, Palm Beach International Polo Club, and The Ridge Horse Shows as well as in print ads promoting the “Buck Off” events. Long sleeve t-shirts are made with each sponsors logo, these shirts are given to every rider at each event and are available for purchase to the public. There are weekly press releases during the preliminary competitions mentioning all sponsors, plus videos and social media posts. These are sent to the media as well as our list of equestrians. Key media individuals are not only invited to attend the event but some will judge the preliminary rounds. We also produce a 30-second commercial that mentions each sponsor with the sponsor logo for social media posts. These are used for an entire year as we continue to promote the Vinceremos “Buck Off” for the following season.

jb-headshot

EAST HAMPTON, NY (September 30, 2016) – Filmmaker, hotelier and entrepreneur Jonathan Baker is ready for his close-up.

Baker has launched the next phase of his beauty product line, est-1962, a collection of 100 percent organic in-room amenities (shampoo, conditioner and body wash). They are now exclusively available at c/o The Maidstone Hotel in East Hampton, which is owned and operated by Baker and his wife, Jenny Ljungberg.

The easily recognizable c/o The Maidstone Hotel, which is housed on a historic 19th century property on East Hampton’s Main Street, already sells the est-1962 body spray, aromatherapy candle and body oil. Samples of the body oil are in the hotel’s eclectic 19 rooms and cottages, which are designed to celebrate some of the most inspiring Scandinavian personalities ever.

jb_blk_grp1_ls1_flarehighlights_8468_v7

“The luxuriously lathering shampoo leaves a discreet yet lingering scent while the conditioner hydrates all hair types,” explains Baker, who was born in 1962 which became the genesis for the line’s name. “The delicate clean and classic scent is a refreshing experience. The luscious body wash is delicately fragranced with mint and eucalyptus and cleanses gently, leaving your skin soft and moisturized.”

Guests at the Scandinavian-inspired boutique hotel are among the first to enjoy Baker’s line of 100 percent organic shampoo, conditioner and body wash, his art of bath. The scent is clean and classic with no harsh perfumes.

“I’ve been inspired by Tom Ford. I like to think of myself as Tom Ford in reverse,” says Baker, who is a filmmaker with an eye for design. “What better way for a line to be experienced than through our sensual hotels? The community of guests that stay there are in for a real treat; once discovered, never forgotten.”

Launching a new beauty line is just one part of Baker’s joie de vive.

The new line is an extension of his prolific story telling. So is his latest movie project. He is currently producing, directing and co-starring in the sexy drama-thriller Inconceivable, starring Oscar winners Nicolas Cage and Faye Dunaway and co-starring Nicky Whelan and Gina Gershon. The film, which is being made by Lionsgate Studios and begins shooting in mid-October, is set for a 2017 release date (www.jonathanbaker.com).

Baker combines filmmaking, beauty products and hotel ownership while splitting time between Los Angeles and New York. He and Ljungberg have been strong supporters of the Hamptons International Film Festival for years. Ljungberg is an Honorary Board member and is expected to attend this year’s big event, which runs from Oct. 6-10. Baker’s goal is for Inconceivable is to be in the 2017 HIFF lineup.

“Jenny and I love the Hamptons Film Festival, the people that organize it and the community of East Hampton,” says Baker. “It would be a great honor to have my film as part of the festival next year.”

The c/o The Maidstone Hotel is the Official Headquarters for the Hampton International Film Festival and attracts a wide-ranging crowd throughout the year, including Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Robert Downey Jr., Molly Sims, Paul McCartney, Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Joel and Alec Baldwin.
